Each week we will send a team of energetic, Christ-centered students that will work as a team to provide an amazing Day Camp experience in your community. Our summer staff are hired after completing an application, screening interview, background checks, and providing multiple references. These staff members will have completed our training program, which includes camper care, behavior management and preventing and/or identifying child abuse.
While your child is at camp, we level the playing field. We group campers based on age. They travel with this team the entire week. Our counselors emphasize the importance of teamwork and respect.
The mission of SpringHill is to create life-impacting experiences that enable young people to know and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Day Camp is a place to have fun, make friends and learn more about God. We will openly promote who God is and share Biblical truths from God's Word each and every day at camp through worship, music, prayer and small groups. However, we respect each individual camper's right to make their own decision regarding this important spiritual matter. Every staff member is a follower of Christ and will model Jesus-like character.
The activities and programming remain the same throughout the summer. If your child will be attending more than one week of day camp, they will experience the same program each week. The difference is that they will have a different team and different counselors the second week.
We do enforce a no tolerance policy at camp. All counselors are trained in our behavior management and anti-bullying policy. If a behavior does arise that causes a disturbance: the child is removed from the situation, there is a very caring conversation about a change in behavior. We partner with the camper to come up with a solution that works for everyone, grace is given, and consequences are enforced, if necessary. At no point will corporal punishment be allowed. If there is no change in the camper's behavior, the Camp Director will call the child's parent/guardian and discuss the options.
The Day Camp program is designed for kids that have completed Kindergarten through completed 4th grade. We recognize that you may have children that fall outside of the grade range. We have been intentional about creating an incredible, age-appropriate experience for campers. If your child is younger, we encourage you to have them wait, and give them something to look forward to. For those campers that have "graduated" from Day Camps, we have an amazing experience waiting for them at our overnight camp properties. springhillcamps.com
Camp is an exciting place to meet new friends. We will try to honor roommate/teammate requests that are made by the Friday before the start of camp. Campers are placed on co-ed teams based on age and requests. We try our best to not "overload" a team with requested campers.
During the registration process one of the steps gives you the ability to request a roommate/teammate for your child. If you choose to invite a friend or relative to be on the same team as your camper, you will need to include the campers name and parents email address. An invitation email will be sent to the parents and they can deny or accept the invitation. This invitation will include a code that the parents will use to accept the teammate invitation. When you log into "My Account", you will be able to see if the invitation has been accepted or is still pending. In order for the campers to be connected to each other, the invitation HAS to be accepted. The invitation can be accepted even if you have not finished the registration process.
At a minimum, we have a health officer who is CPR/First Aid certified.
We ask that you apply sunscreen to your camper every morning before they arrive. Our counselors will help them re-apply sunscreen at lunch and in the afternoon if the team is scheduled to be outside.
We encourage campers to travel with a full water bottle to all their activities. We provide water coolers at the outdoor activities.
You can pay by cash, check or credit card. A $50 deposit is required to register. During the first week of May, final payment will be withdrawn from your financial institution that you provided during registration process. If you register after the first week of May, you will need to pay for Day Camp in full.
All cancellations must be submitted in writing, either mailed to PO Box 100 Evart, MI 49631, faxed to 866-332-5572, or emailed to email@example.com. If canceling 7 or more days prior to the first day of camp, $50 of the paid camp fee will not be refunded. If canceling 6 days or less before the first day of camp, $100 of the paid camp fee will not be refunded. No shows for a scheduled camp will forfeit their entire camp fee. If a camper needs to cancel, substitution of a sibling or friend is not permitted.
When any of the locations reach their capacity, we will create a waitlist. This list is filtered by the date that you register your child. You will be contacted when a spot becomes available. If there are no remaining spots for that location, we encourage you to look at the other locations that may be in your area.
Yes! The first child attends camp at the posted price for that location. Each additional sibling receives a $25 discount off the original price.
There is no price difference if your child does not attend the entire week. We do not offer a pro-rated rate.
We ask that you notify us if your child is ill and will not be able to attend camp that day. You will be receiving information on the first day of camp about who to notify and their contact information.
Yes, we do have a small store that will have an assortment of SpringHill gear ranging from $1 to $25. The store will be available every day at drop off and pick up. We are only able to process cash or checks at the store.
You need to have completed your camper's health form. If you choose to request a friend to be with your child, that request will have to be made and confirmed by the Friday prior to the start of camp. We require that any camper balance be paid in full.
The goal of registration on Monday morning is to make sure all camper forms are collected and completed, medication is dropped off and any outstanding balance is paid. You will also get to meet your child's counselors. The entire process should only last about 20 minutes. Registration will take about 10-15 minutes and meeting the counselors will take about 10 minutes. After you drop off your camper with their counselor, you are free to leave.
Yes! We would love to give you a tour. On the first day of camp, you will see information about the parent tours that will take place throughout the week.
We recommend that you send your child to camp in clothes that can get dirty. Remember this is camp and we may have activities that may cause your child to get wet or dirty. On Monday, your child will be making a tie-dye t-shirt. We do our best to keep the dye from getting on clothes and shoes, but sometimes drips happen. Beyond Monday, your child should be in weather-appropriate attire, and no flip-flops.
Your child should bring: a packed lunch, towel, bathing suit, sunscreen, water bottle, and a change of clothes. Your child should not bring: toys, cell phone, iPod's or MP3 players or other valuable items.
Yes! We ask that you pack a healthy lunch for your child. In addition to lunch, it is a GREAT idea to send a water bottle with your child. We will provide an afternoon snack for your child each day.
Camp begins every day at 9:00 a.m., doors will "open" at 8:55 am. The only exception is on the first day of camp doors open at 8:45 a.m. Pick up at the end of the day will be between 3:50 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
We are unable to provide early drop off camper care.
We can provide extended stay for your child from 4:00 p.m. till 5:30 pm. There is an additional cost of $25 for the week of afternoon extended stay.
On Monday, you will be asked to provide a list of people that you authorize to pick your child up from camp. Only the people that are on this list will be allowed to pick up your child each day from camp. We will ask to see a photo ID everyday from the person picking up your child from camp. We will also ask for them to sign the camper out and we will verify their signature with their photo ID.
We ask that you notify your child's counselor in the morning, if you will need to pick up your camper early. This will give the counselors the opportunity to tell you where your child we be at the requested time. Please remember to bring your photo ID when you pick up your camper.
At SpringHill, we welcome and embrace all kids. If your child has special needs, we ask that you make camp aware of these needs. There is an area on the registration form that can be filled out with details about your child's needs. We are able to provide a one-on-one counselor upon your request at no extra charge.
This varies by location, daily activities and weather. Your child should be prepared to be outside and inside every day.
