Mission Uprising Father/Daughter Retreats
This year SpringHill Indiana will be the location and host of the Mission Uprising father/child retreats. These retreats, both a father/son and father/daughter, are brought to the SpringHill facilities as fathers work to further build strong relationships with their children.
Father/Daughter Camp
September 6-8, 2013
For most Dads, engaging in our daughters' lives is a more daunting idea than it is with sons. They are little women, and let's face it, we haven't even scratched the surface of understanding the full-grown women in our lives yet! Mission:Uprising's father/daughter camps are designed and structured to create a special bonding experience for you and your daughter.
John Eldredge and his wife, Stasi, reveal in their book, Captivating, that a girl learns what it means to be a woman from her mother, but from her father comes an understanding of the value that a woman has, the value she possesses even now, as a girl. She will learn mercy and tenderness from Mom, but some big questions, like "Am I lovely?" and "Am I captivating?" can only be answered by her father. We dads hold a very powerful place in the young hearts of our girls, and they will forever look to us to answer those questions.
If you have been looking for ways to open the lines of communication (and keep them open!) with your princess(es), we believe this is the place to start. This weekend spent together will give you the opportunity you've needed to start answering those big questions for your daughter(s), just by spending time together. Enjoy the zip line, rock climbing wall, fishing, horseback riding, and canoeing. The weekend also includes four very short teaching moments, in order to give the ladies an introduction to their heavenly Father who loves them so much. We know you will both leave with cherished shared memories.
